Grace Garey is a nonprofit founder who has spent her career building and growing mission-driven organizations. She cofounded Watsi, a crowdfunding platform that has raised more than $20 million to fund life-changing medical care for patients around the world. She has also worked as a leadership coach to social entrepreneurs, supporting them with strategy, operations, and culture across fields including global health, criminal justice reform, and climate change.
Grace began attending Second Sundays after her dad died of appendix cancer in 2021. What started as a space for her own grief gradually became a deeper calling. She now facilitates circles in Half Moon Bay and is pursuing a Master of Social Work to deepen her work in grief support.
Grace believes that loss and the awareness of mortality can clarify what truly matters — and give us the courage to live more aligned, honest lives in whatever time we have.
