Jenny Huang

Once upon a time…

A girl named Jenny followed the status quo set forth by pressures of expectations. She swam through the vast ocean of life lost, frustrated, and discontent, tumbling with each wave with no sense of direction. She built an identity she did not connect with, but was what she thought was needed for acceptance.

One day, she found herself in Costa Rica, learning to surf. Despite the numerous wipeouts, she felt held and empowered by the ocean. That led to many more months of travel, solitude, and conversations with mama ocean as she questioned everything, resulting in huge pivots, most of which were scary and unknown. Her decision to show up for herself proved to be the north star she needed.

She discovered Waves of Grief where she gave herself permission to grief her past identity, while embracing her future moving forward. Through the years, Waves of Grief gave her the gift of empowerment and friendship. It has journeyed with her through divorce, death, trauma, new beginnings, and more. It has taught her that grief shows up differently for everyone. What hers looks like is uniquely hers. She continues to swim through the ocean of grief and joy with a community to surf the waves of life with.

Nowadays, she has transitioned from tech to health and wellness. She is a Headspace Certified Mental Health Coach, Working Against Gravity Certified Nutrition Coach, and National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer. She finds passion in healing, learning, and growing, both within herself and in supporting others. She looks forward to applying her learnings toward holding safe spaces for everyone, swimming alongside others on their grief, health, and wellness journeys. Her story continues and she cannot wait to write the next chapter.
