Misia has always felt the pull of the ocean—a calling that led her from the landlocked Midwest to the California coast. What began as a love for the water evolved into a deep, restorative practice after she experienced the loss of loved ones and joined the Waves of Grief collective.  The ocean always felt like home, but entering the Waves of Grief collective felt like a homecoming; offering her a transformative way to connect with her grief, herself, and the ocean.

With a degree in neurobiology and a focus on relationship management and psychological safety in her biotech life, she brings a background rooted in communication and collaboration.  Misia blends this expertise with her lived experience to hold a supportive, grounded space for others navigating their own grief.
