Scott founded the Audrey Marie Ellis Foundation along with Janine and Kelsey Ellis after the tragic passing of his twin nurse daughter Audrey from Covid in 2020. Audrey shared Scott & Kelsey’s passion for the ocean which led to Kelsey’s founding of Waves of Grief to provide a community of grief support at beaches throughout the world sponsored by her foundation.       

 

Scott has been a prolific shipwreck diver and marine archaeologist who led diving projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, Drakes Bay and Florida on such notable shipwrecks as the Flor do Mar, San Agustin and Nuestra Senora de Atocha. He spent three years excavating pre-Columbian shipwrecks in the ancient seaport town of Malacca, Malaysia and in the Malaccan Straits and was the project manager and lead diver for the search and discovery of the 1595 Spanish galleon shipwreck “San Agustin” located in Drakes Bay CA in the late 1980’s.  Scott is a prolific free diver, abalone diver and SCUBA diver and has enjoyed freediving with Sperm Whales in Dominica, Humpback Whales in Tonga, Blue Whales in Indonesia, Great White sharks in Gudalupe Island and Leatherback Turtles in Trinidad.
