Grace Garey
Facilitator
Half Moon Bay, CA

Grace is a social entrepreneur and certified coach whose passion is helping people deepen their self-knowledge, make choices that serve their sense of meaning, and strengthen their connections to the people and experiences that matter most to them.

Grace specializes in helping impact-driven leaders pursue their social missions while protecting their own humanity. Her work is informed by years in the social impact space – 8 as co-founder and COO of Watsi, a nonprofit that enables anyone to fund life-changing healthcare for people around the world, her experience as a mentor to early-stage social entrepreneurs at institutions like the Stanford Center for Social Innovation, and her training as a Hudson Institute leadership coach, which is rooted in a whole person approach to maximizing well-being at work.

On the side, Grace volunteers with a local hospice organization, supporting patients and their families as they near the end of life. Since losing her dad to cancer in 2021, Grace has felt drawn to people and communities confronting life’s most essential questions. How do we live fully in spite of the inevitable, temporary nature of it all? How do we care for ourselves and others through transition and loss? What can we learn about life and love in the process?

Grace has loved joining Waves of Grief as a participant, and is thrilled to contribute now as a facilitator!
